about

This is track three on our debut album Ten Popular Melodies which has just been released and should be available on itunes now. Its probably my favourite track of ours and live gives a great excuse to go off on a Grateful Dead style tangent.
The song is about not taking your surroundings for granted and accepting your own mortality. Hey its almost pagan rock! Some folk have compared it to Neil Young or Fairport Convention which if anything is flattering to me. Enjoy folks!!!
More to come

lyrics

Rowan trees grow where no one cares
But they’re going to see us through another year
Are you going to see us through this my friend?

Once we had money but now it’s gone
Don’t you kind of wonder where all that money came from
I thought I saw it fall out your hand

I see the morning
As my last warning
To thank you

Noah built a ship and it was so strong
But it wasn’t strong enough to take me along
So I had to stay at home with all the strays

Honey please rest me at the sand
Rest me at the place just where we planned
And you know I’d do the same

We’re out here with the wilderness blues
Wondering just what we could lose
